Logo imageDesigning a company symbol serves to create a business brand mark that you place at the most conspicuous spot outside your shop or office. But promoting your business needs to go beyond the visibility of a signage and banners. You want your customers and your business partners to recognize your company through your brand mark as you network and communicate with them. For this reason, you want to make sure that your company’s letterhead stands out. So how do you rearrange your logo so that it neatly suits your stationery? Culled from Beneficial Function, here are smart tips for your letter logo.

3 Tips to Craft your Company’s Letterhead

1. Avoid using images from your brand mark in your letterhead symbol

It can be tempting not to discard your lovely images that you have in your trademark. Although they do appear perfectly well on your signage, graphics and images do not necessarily work just as well with letterheads.

If there are images in your brand mark, then do not transform them into your letterhead. Keep in mind that you will need to get a lot of prints of your letterhead and using graphics will increase the cost of the prints needlessly. Also, transforming images into letterheads can be a tricky business and can look low quality if the image is even a little distorted. So instead of using images, just place your business name in the center or right hand side of your letterhead.

2. Redesign colored trademark into a black and white background

Colored trademarks printed just as they are on letterheads may sometimes appear amateurish. Of course, this depends on the bright color combinations. You sure want to appear professional in your communication, and the first impression on the letterhead should speak for itself.

If your trademark consists of bright colors like a purple flower with a yellow background, then you need to change the image into a neat black and white format and use that in the letterhead. Printing color can get expensive and will not give the letterhead the professional look that it should consist of. So it is better if your letterhead trademark is crafted in black and white or shades of gray to give your letterhead a professional feel.

3. Skip the inscription in the letter symbol for single letter logo that has the company name inscribed beneath

The least that you want to happen with your letterhead is to make it appear too “heavy” that it loses its appeal. While some company logo designs can be retained on the letterhead as they appear on billboard signs, others do not bring the same effect.

Your company symbol with name in-scripted beneath may look good on the hoardings and banners but it will be too overwhelming for the letterhead. Instead, you can use only the business initials and mention the company name with contact details in the footer of the page in small fonts. If you think that this is making the letterhead page too plain, then you can add a small 0.25 inches border on the left and bottom of the page to give it a little color. Make sure that the color you use is according to your branding colors. This way you can smartly fit you one letter logo into the letterhead.

It is important that you put special attention to designing your letterhead. As what you have read above, company logos need to be suitably fit for your stationery so that it brings out the professional aspect of your business. In addition, you want to make sure that your design can save you money. Too mauch graphics and colors can not only look overwhelming, but they can also be expensive on your printing as well.
